Do not give Babylon's soldiers time to pick up their weapons!
Do not give them time to put on their armour!
Kill all their young men.
Completely destroy their whole army.
Their dead bodies will lie on the ground
all over Babylonia and in the streets of the city.
The Lord Almighty, Israel's God,
will not leave Israel and Judah on their own.
Those people are guilty of many bad things
that they have done against Israel's holy God.[a]

Let not the archer string his bow,(A)
    nor let him put on his armor.(B)

They will fall(C) down slain in Babylon,[b]
    fatally wounded in her streets.(D)
For Israel and Judah have not been forsaken(E)
