8 But the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king and (A)overtook Zedekiah in the [a]desert plains of Jericho, and all his army was scattered from him. 9 Then they captured the king and (B)brought him up to the king of Babylon at (C)Riblah in the land of (D)Hamath, and he [b]passed sentence on him. 10 And the king of Babylon (E)slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and he also slaughtered all the commanders of Judah in Riblah.

New International Version
8 but the Babylonian[a] army pursued King Zedekiah and overtook him in the plains of Jericho. All his soldiers were separated from him and scattered, 9 and he was captured.(A)
He was taken to the king of Babylon at Riblah(B) in the land of Hamath,(C) where he pronounced sentence on him. 10 There at Riblah the king of Babylon killed the sons(D) of Zedekiah before his eyes; he also killed all the officials of Judah.
