¹³ And now, because you have done all these works,” says the Lord, “and I spoke to you, ^(A)rising up early and speaking, but you did not hear, and I ^(B)called you, but you did not answer,

^24 (A)Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but ^(B)followed^[a] the counsels and the ^[b]dictates of their evil hearts, and ^(C)went^[c] backward and not forward.

¹⁶ But ^(A)they mocked the messengers of God, ^(B)despised His words, and ^(C)scoffed at His prophets, until the ^(D)wrath of the Lord arose against His people, till there was no remedy.

¹¹ For as the sash clings to the waist of a man, so I have caused the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah to cling to Me,’ says the Lord, ‘that ^(A)they may become My people, ^(B)for renown, for praise, and for ^(C)glory; but they would ^(D)not hear.’
