²² For I did not ^(A)speak to your fathers, or command them on the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings and sacrifices. ²³ But this is ^[a]what I commanded them, saying, ‘^(B)Obey My voice, and ^(C)I will be your God, and you will be My people; and you shall walk ^[b]entirely in the way which I command you, so that it may ^(D)go well for you.’

⁷ But if you had known what this ^[a]means: ‘^(A)I desire ^[b]compassion, ^[c]rather than sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned ^[d]the innocent.

^33 (A)and to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, ^(B)is much more than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
