8 Look! You are relying on deceitful words that can’t do you any good. 9 First you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, offer to Ba‘al and go after other gods that you haven’t known. 10 Then you come and stand before me in this house that bears my name and say, ‘We are saved’ — so that you can go on doing these abominations!

8 But look, you are trusting(A) in deceptive(B) words that are worthless.
9 “‘Will you steal(C) and murder,(D) commit adultery(E) and perjury,[a](F) burn incense to Baal(G) and follow other gods(H) you have not known, 10 and then come and stand(I) before me in this house,(J) which bears my Name, and say, “We are safe”—safe to do all these detestable things?(K)
