²² Is there no balm in Gilead?^(A)
    Is there no physician^(B) there?
Why then is there no healing^(C)
    for the wound of my people?

“Though you are like Gilead^(A) to me,
    like the summit of Lebanon,^(B)
I will surely make you like a wasteland,^(C)
    like towns not inhabited.

But you try many medicines in vain;
