¹⁶ Then, if they will really ^(A)learn the ways of My people, to ^(B)swear by My name, ‘As the Lord lives,’ just as they taught My people to ^(C)swear by Baal, they will be ^(D)built up in the midst of My people. ¹⁷ But if they do not listen, then I will ^(E)drive out that nation, drive it out and destroy it,” declares the Lord.

^28 (A)Those who escape the sword will return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah ^[a](B)few in number. Then all the remnant of Judah who have gone to the land of Egypt to reside there will know ^(C)whose word will stand, Mine or theirs. ²⁹ And this will be the ^(D)sign to you,’ declares the Lord, ‘that I am going to punish you in this place, so that you may know that ^(E)My words will assuredly stand against you for harm.’
