¹¹ Then the priests and the prophets ^(A)spoke to the officials and to all the people, saying, “A ^(B)death sentence for this man! For he has prophesied ^(C)against this city, just as you have heard with your own ears!”

¹⁹ Then the officials said to Baruch, “Go, ^(A)hide yourself, you and Jeremiah, and do not let anyone know where you are.”

²⁵ Even though Elnathan, Delaiah, and Gemariah ^(A)urged the king not to burn the scroll, he would not listen to them.

⁷ But ^(A)Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, a ^[a](B)eunuch, while he was in the king’s palace, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the cistern. Now the king was sitting at the ^(C)Gate of Benjamin;

¹³ So they pulled Jeremiah out with the ropes and lifted him out of the cistern, and Jeremiah stayed in the ^(A)courtyard of the guardhouse.
