⁹ Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, ^[a](A)offer sacrifices to Baal, and follow ^(B)other gods that you have not known,

¹² Then the cities of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem will ^(A)go and cry out to the gods to whom they ^[a]burn incense, but they certainly will not save them in the time of their disaster.

¹⁷ The Lord of armies, who ^(A)planted you, has ^(B)pronounced evil against you because of the evil of the house of Israel and the house of Judah, which they have ^[a]done to provoke Me by ^[b](C)offering sacrifices to Baal.

^3 (A)because of their wickedness which they committed to ^(B)provoke Me to anger by continuing to ^(C)burn ^[a]sacrifices and to ^(D)serve other gods whom they had not known, neither they, you, nor your fathers.
