5 And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and (A)consecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and (B)offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my children have sinned, and (C)cursed[a] God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually.

6 Now there was a day when (D)the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and (E)Satan[b] also came among them. 7 The Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From (F)going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.”

5 When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would make arrangements for them to be purified.(A) Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering(B) for each of them, thinking, “Perhaps my children have sinned(C) and cursed God(D) in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular custom.
6 One day the angels[a](E) came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan[b](F) also came with them.(G) 7 The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”
Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”(H)
