³ Will your idle talk^(A) reduce others to silence?
    Will no one rebuke you when you mock?^(B)

²² “How long will you who are simple^(A) love your simple ways?
    How long will mockers delight in mockery
    and fools hate^(B) knowledge?

¹⁴ Therefore hear the word of the Lord,^(A) you scoffers^(B)
    who rule this people in Jerusalem.

⁵ On the day of the festival of our king
    the princes become inflamed with wine,^(A)
    and he joins hands with the mockers.^(B)
