²⁹ When people are brought low^(A) and you say, ‘Lift them up!’
    then he will save the downcast.^(B)

³³ Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord,^(A)
    and humility comes before honor.^(B)

¹² Before a downfall the heart is haughty,
    but humility comes before honor.^(A)

² Has not my hand made all these things,^(A)
    and so they came into being?”
declares the Lord.

“These are the ones I look on with favor:
    those who are humble and contrite in spirit,^(B)
