¹² “From the city men groan,
And the souls of the wounded cry out;
Yet God ^(A)does not pay attention to folly.

⁴ Therefore ^(A)my spirit ^[a]is overwhelmed within me;
My heart is ^[b](B)appalled within me.

¹⁴ The ^(A)spirit of a man can endure his sickness,
But as for a ^(B)broken spirit who can bear it?
