⁷ The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”

Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”^(A)

¹¹ And they reported to the angel of the Lord^(A) who was standing among the myrtle trees, “We have gone throughout the earth and found the whole world at rest and in peace.”^(B)

¹⁰ “Who dares despise the day^(A) of small things,^(B) since the seven eyes^(C) of the Lord that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone^[a] in the hand of Zerubbabel?”^(D)

⁵ The angel answered me, “These are the four spirits^[a](A) of heaven, going out from standing in the presence of the Lord of the whole world.^{(B) 6} The one with the black horses is going toward the north country, the one with the white horses toward the west,^[b] and the one with the dappled horses toward the south.”

⁷ When the powerful horses went out, they were straining to go throughout the earth.^(C) And he said, “Go throughout the earth!” So they went throughout the earth.

⁸ Then he called to me, “Look, those going toward the north country have given my Spirit^[c] rest^(D) in the land of the north.”^(E)
