14 “Indeed God speaks once, Or twice, yet no one notices it. 15 “In a dream, a vision of the night, When sound sleep falls on men, While they slumber in their beds, 16 Then He opens the ears of men, And seals their instruction,
26 The king said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, “Are you able to make known to me the dream which I have seen and its interpretation?”27 Daniel answered before the king and said, “As for the mystery about which the king has inquired, neither wise men, conjurers, [a]magicians nor diviners are able to declare it to the king.28 However, there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will take place in the [b]latter days. This was your dream and the visions [c]in your mind while on your bed.
5 I saw a dream and it made me fearful; and these fantasies as I lay on my bed and the visions [a]in my mind kept alarming me.6 So I gave orders to bring into my presence all the wise men of Babylon, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream.7 Then the [b]magicians, the conjurers, the [c]Chaldeans and the diviners came in and I related the dream [d]to them, but they could not make its interpretation known to me.8 But finally Daniel came in before me, whose name is Belteshazzar according to the name of my god, and in whom is [e]a spirit of the holy gods; and I related the dream [f]to him, saying,9 ‘O Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, since I know that a spirit of the holy gods is in you and no mystery baffles you, tell me the visions of my dream which I have seen, along with its interpretation.
