¹⁸ How ^(A)the beasts groan!
    The herds of cattle are perplexed
because there is no pasture for them;
    even the flocks of sheep suffer.^[a]

³ “I will sweep away ^(A)man and beast;
    I will sweep away the birds of the heavens
    and ^(B)the fish of the sea,
and ^(C)the rubble^[a] with the wicked.
    I will ^(D)cut off mankind
    from the face of the earth,” declares the Lord.
