46 But some[a] of them went to the Pharisees and told them the things which Jesus did. 47 So the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered together a council[b]. And they were saying, “What are we doing? Because this man is doing many signs! 48 If we tolerate Him in this manner, everyone will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place[c] and nation”.

New International Version
46 But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. 47 Then the chief priests and the Pharisees(A) called a meeting(B) of the Sanhedrin.(C)
“What are we accomplishing?” they asked. “Here is this man performing many signs.(D) 48 If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our temple and our nation.”
