Then a large crowd of the Jews learned he was there. They came not only because of Jesus but also to see Lazarus, the one he had raised from the dead.(C)

“Leave her alone,” Jesus replied. “It was intended that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial.(A) You will always have the poor among you,[a](B) but you will not always have me.”
