²The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus.^(A)

²And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him;

²⁷As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him.^(A)

So Jesus told him, “What you are about to do, do quickly.”

²⁷And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.
