3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going to God, 4 rose from supper, laid aside his garments, and girded himself with a towel. 5 Then he poured water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which he was girded.

New International Version
3 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power,(A) and that he had come from God(B) and was returning to God; 4 so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist.(C) 5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet,(D) drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
