8 But what does it say? “(A)The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, 9 [a]that (B)if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and (C)believe in your heart that (D)God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, [b]resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, [c]resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “(E)Whoever believes in Him will not be [d]put to shame.” 12 For (F)there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is (G)Lord of (H)all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; 13 for “(I)Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
14 How then are they to call on Him in whom they have not believed? How are they to believe in Him (J)whom they have not heard? And how are they to hear without (K)a preacher? 15 But how are they to preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written: “(L)How beautiful are the feet of those who [e](M)bring good news of good things!”
16 However, they (N)did not all heed the [f]good news; for Isaiah says, “(O)Lord, who has believed our report?” 17 So faith comes from (P)hearing, and hearing by (Q)the word [g]of Christ.
18 But I say, surely they have never heard, have they? On the contrary:
19 But I say, surely Israel did not know, did they? First Moses says,
“(S)I will (T)make you jealous with those who are not a nation,
With a foolish nation I will anger you.”
20 And Isaiah is very bold and says,
“(U)I was found by those who did not seek Me,
I revealed Myself to those who did not ask for Me.”
21 But as for Israel, He says, “(V)I have spread out My hands all day long to a disobedient and obstinate people.”

8 But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,”[a](A) that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: 9 If you declare(B) with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,”(C) and believe(D) in your heart that God raised him from the dead,(E) you will be saved.(F) 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”[b](G) 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile(H)—the same Lord is Lord of all(I) and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord(J) will be saved.”[c](K)
14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”[d](L)
16 But not all the Israelites accepted the good news.(M) For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?”[e](N) 17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message,(O) and the message is heard through the word about Christ.(P) 18 But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did:
19 Again I ask: Did Israel not understand? First, Moses says,
“I will make you envious(R) by those who are not a nation;
I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding.”[g](S)
20 And Isaiah boldly says,
“I was found by those who did not seek me;
I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me.”[h](T)
21 But concerning Israel he says,
