⁸ More than that, I also consider everything to be a loss in view of the surpassing value^(A) of knowing Christ^(B) Jesus my Lord. Because of Him I have suffered the loss of all things and consider them filth, so that I may gain Christ^(C)

² May grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God^(A) and of Jesus our Lord.

⁸ For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they will keep you from being useless^(A) or unfruitful^(B) in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁰ For if, having escaped the world’s impurity through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,^(A) they are again entangled in these things and defeated, the last state is worse for them than the first.^(B)
