John 19:26-28
New Century Version
26 When Jesus saw his mother and the follower he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Dear woman, here is your son.” 27 Then he said to the follower, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, the follower took her to live in his home.
Jesus Dies
28 After this, Jesus knew that everything had been done. So that the Scripture would come true, he said, “I am thirsty.”[a]

26 When Jesus saw his mother(A) there, and the disciple whom he loved(B) standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman,[a] here is your son,” 27 and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

28 Later, knowing that everything had now been finished,(D) and so that Scripture would be fulfilled,(E) Jesus said, “I am thirsty.”
