22 And when he was raised from death, his disciples remembered what he had told them. Then they believed the Scriptures and the words of Jesus.

23 In Jerusalem during Passover many people put their faith in Jesus, because they saw him work miracles.[a] 24 But Jesus knew what was in their hearts, and he would not let them have power over him.

New International Version
22 After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said.(A) Then they believed the scripture(B) and the words that Jesus had spoken.
23 Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival,(C) many people saw the signs(D) he was performing and believed(E) in his name.[a] 24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people.
