John 21:23-25
Common English Bible
23 Therefore, the word spread among the brothers and sisters that this disciple wouldn’t die. However, Jesus didn’t say he wouldn’t die, but only, “If I want him to remain until I come, what difference does that make to you?” 24 This is the disciple who testifies concerning these things and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true. 25 Jesus did many other things as well. If all of them were recorded, I imagine the world itself wouldn’t have enough room for the scrolls that would be written.

23 Because of this, the rumor spread among the believers(A) that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say that he would not die; he only said, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?”
24 This is the disciple who testifies to these things(B) and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true.(C)
25 Jesus did many other things as well.(D) If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.
