8 Jesus said unto him, Rise: take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and the same day was the Sabbath.
10 [a]The Jews therefore said to him that was made whole, It is the Sabbath day: (A)it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.

New International Version
8 Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.”(A) 9 At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.
The day on which this took place was a Sabbath,(B) 10 and so the Jewish leaders(C) said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat.”(D)
