8 Jesus *said to him, “(A)Get up, pick up your mat and walk.” 9 And immediately the man became well, and picked up his mat and began to walk.

(B)Now it was the Sabbath on that day. 10 So (C)the Jews were saying to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath, and (D)it is not lawful for you to carry your mat.”

New International Version

8 Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.”(A) 9 At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.

The day on which this took place was a Sabbath,(B) 10 and so the Jewish leaders(C) said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat.”(D)
