John 7:17-19
1599 Geneva Bible
17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
18 [a]He that speaketh of himself, seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
19 (A)[b]Did not Moses give you a Law, and yet none of you keepeth the Law? (B)Why go ye about to kill me?

- John 7:18 The true doctrine of salvation differeth from the false in this, that the same setteth forth the glory of God, and this by puffing up of men darkeneth the glory of God.
- John 7:19 None do more confidently boast themselves to be the defenders of the Law of God, than they that do most impudently break it.
John 7:17-19
New International Version
17 Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out(A) whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. 18 Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory,(B) but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him. 19 Has not Moses given you the law?(C) Yet not one of you keeps the law. Why are you trying to kill me?”(D)
