³²The Pharisees heard the crowd whispering such things about him. Then the chief priests and the Pharisees sent temple guards to arrest him.

³²The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.

⁴⁴Some wanted to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him.^(A)

⁴⁴And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.

³⁹Again they tried to seize him,^(A) but he escaped their grasp.^(B)

³⁹Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,
