³³ Then Jesus said, “I am only with you for a short time.^(A) Then I’m going to the one who sent me.^(B)

¹⁴ “Even if I testify about myself,” Jesus replied, “my testimony is true, because I know where I came from and where I’m going. But you don’t know where I come from or where I’m going.^(A)

Jesus Predicts His Departure

²¹ Then he said to them again, “I’m going away; ^(A) you will look for me, and you will die in your sin.^(B) Where I’m going, you cannot come.”^(C)

²² So the Jews said again, “He won’t kill himself, will he, since he says, ‘Where I’m going, you cannot come’^(D)?”

³ Jesus knew that the Father had given everything into his hands,^(A) that he had come from God,^(B) and that he was going back to God.^(C)

³³ Little children, I am with you a little while longer.^(A) You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so now I tell you, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come.’^(B)
