38 He who believes in Me, (A)as the Scripture said, ‘From [a]his innermost being will flow rivers of (B)living water.’” 39 But this He spoke (C)of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were going to receive; for (D)the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet (E)glorified.

40 Some of the crowd therefore, when they heard these words, were saying, “This truly is (F)the Prophet.”

38 Whoever believes(A) in me, as Scripture has said,(B) rivers of living water(C) will flow from within them.”[a](D) 39 By this he meant the Spirit,(E) whom those who believed in him were later to receive.(F) Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.(G)
40 On hearing his words, some of the people said, “Surely this man is the Prophet.”(H)
