41 Others thought, “This is the Christ.” But still others retorted, “How can the Christ come from Galilee? 42 Does not Scripture assert that the Christ will be of the seed of David and come from Bethlehem, the city where David lived?” 43 As a result, the crowd was sharply divided because of him.

41 Others said, “He is the Messiah.”
Still others asked, “How can the Messiah come from Galilee?(A) 42 Does not Scripture say that the Messiah will come from David’s descendants(B) and from Bethlehem,(C) the town where David lived?” 43 Thus the people were divided(D) because of Jesus.
