43 Why do you not understand [a](A)what I am saying? It is because you cannot (B)listen to My word. 44 (C)You are of (D)your father the devil, and (E)you want to do the desires of your father. (F)He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because (G)there is no truth in him. Whenever he tells [b]a lie, he (H)speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of [c]lies. 45 But because (I)I say the truth, you do not believe Me.

43 Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44 You belong to your father, the devil,(A) and you want to carry out your father’s desires.(B) He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.(C) 45 Yet because I tell the truth,(D) you do not believe me!

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
