Joshua 11:21-23

Good News Translation

²¹At this time Joshua went and destroyed the race of giants called the Anakim who lived in the hill country—in Hebron, Debir, Anab, and in all the hill country of Judah and Israel. Joshua completely destroyed them and their cities. ²²None of the Anakim were left in the land of Israel; a few, however, were left in Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod.

²³Joshua captured the whole land, as the Lord had commanded Moses. Joshua gave it to the Israelites as their own and divided it into portions, one for each tribe.

So the people rested from war.

New International Version

²¹At that time Joshua went and destroyed the Anakites^(A) from the hill country: from Hebron, Debir^(B) and Anab,^(C) from all the hill country of Judah, and from all the hill country of Israel. Joshua totally destroyed them and their towns. ²²No Anakites were left in Israelite territory; only in Gaza,^(D) Gath^(E) and Ashdod^(F) did any survive.

²³So Joshua took the entire land,^(G) just as the Lord had directed Moses, and he gave it as an inheritance^(H) to Israel according to their tribal divisions.^(I) Then the land had rest^(J) from war.^(K)

²¹And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.

²²There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.

²³So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the Lord said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.
