New English Translation
4 These kings came out with their armies; they were as numerous as the sand on the seashore and had a large number of horses and chariots.[a] 5 All these kings gathered and joined forces[b] at the Waters of Merom to fight Israel.
6 The Lord told Joshua, “Don’t be afraid of them, for about this time tomorrow I will cause all of them to lie dead before Israel. You must hamstring their horses and burn[c] their chariots.”

4 They came out with all their troops and a large number of horses and chariots—a huge army, as numerous as the sand on the seashore.(A) 5 All these kings joined forces(B) and made camp together at the Waters of Merom(C) to fight against Israel.
6 The Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them, because by this time tomorrow I will hand(D) all of them, slain, over to Israel. You are to hamstring(E) their horses and burn their chariots.”(F)
