²⁷ and in the valley, Beth-haram, Beth-nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, with the Jordan ^[a]as a border, as far as the lower end of the Sea of ^[b](A)Chinnereth beyond the Jordan to the east.

⁵ And he said to the men of ^(A)Succoth, “Please give loaves of bread to the people who are ^[a]following me, for they are exhausted, and I am pursuing Zebah and Zalmunna, the kings of Midian.”

¹⁴ And he captured a youth from ^[a]Succoth and questioned him. Then the youth wrote down for him the leaders of Succoth and its elders, seventy-seven men.
