New English Translation
12 The western border was the Mediterranean Sea.[a] These were the borders of the tribe of Judah and its clans.[b]
13 Caleb son of Jephunneh was assigned Kiriath Arba (that is Hebron) within the tribe of Judah, according to the Lord’s instructions to Joshua. (Arba was the father of Anak.)[c] 14 Caleb drove out[d] from there three Anakites—Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai, descendants of Anak.

These are the boundaries around the people of Judah by their clans.
13 In accordance with the Lord’s command to him, Joshua gave to Caleb(B) son of Jephunneh a portion in Judah—Kiriath Arba(C), that is, Hebron.(D) (Arba was the forefather of Anak.)(E) 14 From Hebron Caleb drove out the three Anakites(F)—Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai,(G) the sons of Anak.(H)
