¹²The west border was ^(A)the coastline of the Great Sea. This is the boundary of the children of Judah all around according to their families.

Caleb Occupies Hebron and Debir^(B)

¹³^(C)Now to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a share among the children of ^(D)Judah, according to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, namely, ^(E)Kirjath Arba, which is Hebron (Arba was the father of Anak). ¹⁴Caleb drove out ^(F)the three sons of Anak from there: ^(G)Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

¹²The western boundary is the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea.^(A)

These are the boundaries around the people of Judah by their clans.

¹³In accordance with the Lord’s command to him, Joshua gave to Caleb^(B) son of Jephunneh a portion in Judah—Kiriath Arba^(C), that is, Hebron.^(D) (Arba was the forefather of Anak.)^(E) ¹⁴From Hebron Caleb drove out the three Anakites^(F)—Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai,^(G) the sons of Anak.^(H)
