9 She said to the men, “I know that the Lord has given you the land, for dread from you has fallen upon us, and all the inhabitants of the land melt in terror before you. 10 For we heard how the Lord dried up the waters of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to Sihon and Og, the two kings of the Amorites who were on the other side of the Jordan, whom you completely destroyed. 11 Our hearts melted when we heard these things, and no man had any breath in him because of you, for the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on earth below.

9 and said to them, “I know that the Lord has given you this land and that a great fear(A) of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you. 10 We have heard how the Lord dried up(B) the water of the Red Sea[a] for you when you came out of Egypt,(C) and what you did to Sihon and Og,(D) the two kings of the Amorites(E) east of the Jordan,(F) whom you completely destroyed.[b](G) 11 When we heard of it, our hearts melted in fear(H) and everyone’s courage failed(I) because of you,(J) for the Lord your God(K) is God in heaven above and on the earth(L) below.
