42 These cities individually had [a]their surrounding pasture lands; this is how it was with all these cities.
43 (A)So the Lord gave Israel all the land which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and (B)they took possession of it and lived in it. 44 And the Lord (C)gave them rest on every side, in accordance with everything that He had sworn to their fathers, and (D)no one of all their enemies stood before them; (E)the Lord handed all their enemies over to them.

42 Each of these towns had pasturelands surrounding it; this was true for all these towns.
43 So the Lord gave Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors,(A) and they took possession(B) of it and settled there.(C) 44 The Lord gave them rest(D) on every side, just as he had sworn to their ancestors. Not one of their enemies(E) withstood them; the Lord gave all their enemies(F) into their hands.(G)
