12 I sent the hornet [that is, the terror of you] before you, which drove the two kings of the Amorites out before you; but it was not by your sword or by your bow.(A) 13 I gave you a land for which you did not labor, and cities which you did not build, and you live in them; you eat from vineyards and olive groves which you did not plant.’
14 “Now, therefore, fear the Lord and serve Him in sincerity and in truth; remove the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the [Euphrates] River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord.

You did not do it with your own sword and bow.(C) 13 So I gave you a land(D) on which you did not toil and cities you did not build; and you live in them and eat from vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant.’(E)
14 “Now fear the Lord(F) and serve him with all faithfulness.(G) Throw away the gods(H) your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt,(I) and serve the Lord.
