12 And I sent hornets ahead of you to drive out the two kings of the Amorites and their people. It was not your swords or bows that brought you victory! 13 I gave you land you had not worked for and cities you did not build—these cities where you are now living. I gave you vineyards and olive groves for food, though you did not plant them.’
14 “So revere Jehovah and serve him in sincerity and truth. Put away forever the idols your ancestors worshiped when they lived beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt. Worship the Lord alone.

You did not do it with your own sword and bow.(C) 13 So I gave you a land(D) on which you did not toil and cities you did not build; and you live in them and eat from vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant.’(E)
14 “Now fear the Lord(F) and serve him with all faithfulness.(G) Throw away the gods(H) your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt,(I) and serve the Lord.
