20 If you turn away from the Lord and serve strange gods, He will turn and punish you. He will destroy you after He has been good to you.” 21 The people said to Joshua, “Not so, for we will serve the Lord.” 22 Then Joshua said to the people, “You have spoken for yourselves that you have chosen to serve the Lord.” And they said, “We have spoken for ourselves.”

20 If you forsake the Lord(A) and serve foreign gods, he will turn(B) and bring disaster(C) on you and make an end of you,(D) after he has been good to you.”
21 But the people said to Joshua, “No! We will serve the Lord.”
22 Then Joshua said, “You are witnesses(E) against yourselves that you have chosen(F) to serve the Lord.”
“Yes, we are witnesses,(G)” they replied.
