Joshua 24:6-8

6 When I brought out your ancestors[a] from Egypt, you came to the sea, and the Egyptians pursued after your ancestors[b] with chariots[c] and horsemen to the Red Sea.[d] 7 They cried out to Yahweh, and he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and he brought the sea over them[e] and covered them; your own eyes saw what I did in Egypt. Then you lived in the wilderness for many days. 8 And I brought you to the land of the Amorites[f] who lived beyond the Jordan; they fought you, and I gave them into your hand; you took possession of their land, and I destroyed them before you.[g]

6 When I brought your people out of Egypt, you came to the sea,(A) and the Egyptians pursued them with chariots and horsemen[a](B) as far as the Red Sea.[b](C) 7 But they cried(D) to the Lord for help, and he put darkness(E) between you and the Egyptians; he brought the sea over them and covered them.(F) You saw with your own eyes what I did to the Egyptians.(G) Then you lived in the wilderness for a long time.(H)
8 “‘I brought you to the land of the Amorites(I) who lived east of the Jordan. They fought against you, but I gave them into your hands. I destroyed them from before you, and you took possession of their land.(J)
