7 Then they cried to Jehovah, and he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your eyes saw what I did in Egypt; and ye dwelt in the wilderness a long time.
8 And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, who dwelt beyond the Jordan, and they fought with you, and I gave them into your hand, and ye took possession of their land, and I destroyed them from before you.
9 And Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and warred against Israel, and sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you;

7 But they cried(A) to the Lord for help, and he put darkness(B) between you and the Egyptians; he brought the sea over them and covered them.(C) You saw with your own eyes what I did to the Egyptians.(D) Then you lived in the wilderness for a long time.(E)
8 “‘I brought you to the land of the Amorites(F) who lived east of the Jordan. They fought against you, but I gave them into your hands. I destroyed them from before you, and you took possession of their land.(G) 9 When Balak son of Zippor,(H) the king of Moab, prepared to fight against Israel, he sent for Balaam son of Beor(I) to put a curse on you.(J)
