¹⁷ Then the children of Israel journeyed and came to their cities on the third day. Now their cities were ^(A)Gibeon, Chephirah, Beeroth, and Kirjath Jearim.

¹⁰ So the Lord ^(A)routed them before Israel, killed them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, chased them along the road that goes ^(B)to Beth Horon, and struck them down as far as ^(C)Azekah and Makkedah.

¹⁹ There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, except ^(A)the Hivites, the inhabitants of Gibeon. All the others they took in battle.

¹² Now Abner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ishbosheth the son of Saul, went out from Mahanaim to ^(A)Gibeon.

²⁵ And David did so, as the Lord commanded him; and he drove back the Philistines from ^(A)Geba^[a] as far as ^(B)Gezer.

⁸ When they were at the large stone which is in Gibeon, Amasa came before them. Now Joab was dressed in battle armor; on it was a belt with a sword fastened in its sheath at his hips; and as he was going forward, it fell out.

⁴ Now ^(A)the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there, ^(B)for that was the great high place: Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar.
