26 This he did to them, and saved them from the hands of the sons of Israel, and they did not kill them. 27 But on that day Joshua made them gatherers of firewood and [a]labor to draw water for the congregation and for the altar of the Lord, to this day, (A)in the place which He would choose.

26 So Joshua saved them from the Israelites, and they did not kill them. 27 That day he made the Gibeonites(A) woodcutters and water carriers(B) for the assembly, to provide for the needs of the altar of the Lord at the place the Lord would choose.(C) And that is what they are to this day.
