27 I have not sinned against you; but you are the one who is doing wrong by making war against me. Let Yahweh judge[a] today between the Israelites[b] and the Ammonites.”[c] 28 But the king of the Ammonites[d] did not listen to the message that Jephthah sent to him.
Jephthah Makes a Vow
29 And the Spirit of Yahweh came upon Jephthah, and he passed through Gilead and Manasseh. He passed through Mizpah of Gilead, and from Mizpah of Gilead he passed through to the Ammonites.[e]

27 I have not wronged you, but you are doing me wrong by waging war against me. Let the Lord, the Judge,(A) decide(B) the dispute this day between the Israelites and the Ammonites.(C)”
28 The king of Ammon, however, paid no attention to the message Jephthah sent him.
29 Then the Spirit(D) of the Lord came on Jephthah. He crossed Gilead and Manasseh, passed through Mizpah(E) of Gilead, and from there he advanced against the Ammonites.(F)
