⁵ The mountains melted before the Lord,
even Sinai,^[a] before the Lord, the God of Israel.^(A)

² Therefore we will not be afraid,
though the earth trembles
and the mountains topple
into the depths of the seas,^(A)
3 though its water roars and foams
and the mountains quake with its turmoil.^(B)Selah

⁵ The mountains melt like wax
at the presence of the Lord—
at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.^(A)

²⁵ Therefore the Lord’s anger burned^(A) against his people.
He raised his hand against them and struck them;
the mountains quaked,^(B)
and their corpses were like garbage in the streets.
In all this, his anger has not turned away,
and his hand is still raised to strike.^(C)
