Judges 6:2-4
New American Standard Bible
2 The [a]power of Midian prevailed against Israel. Because of Midian the sons of Israel made for themselves (A)the dens which were in the mountains and the caves and the strongholds. 3 For whenever Israel had sown, the Midianites would come up with the Amalekites and the [b]people of the east and [c]march against them. 4 So they would camp against them and (B)destroy the produce of the earth [d]as far as Gaza, and (C)leave no sustenance in Israel, nor a sheep, ox, or donkey.

New International Version
2 Because the power of Midian was so oppressive,(A) the Israelites prepared shelters for themselves in mountain clefts, caves(B) and strongholds.(C) 3 Whenever the Israelites planted their crops, the Midianites, Amalekites(D) and other eastern peoples(E) invaded the country. 4 They camped on the land and ruined the crops(F) all the way to Gaza(G) and did not spare a living thing for Israel, neither sheep nor cattle nor donkeys.
